Some of us may be enduring some diseases or defects, just like me, I seldom visit my doctor due to fear of knowing that I am sick or I may have syndrome or diseases that needs miracle to cure me. However, it is better to see our doctor frequently and know the diagnosis earlier to find proper treatment and cure. We have a lot of celebrities who are brave enough to face their diagnosed diseases. Angelina Jolie is one example of a brave celebrity, who recently underwent a double mastectomy to prevent breast cancer and soon will undergo a total hysterectomy to prevent uterus or cervical cancer which is a common cancer among women. Here are some lists of celebrity with strange diseases.

From her young age of 13, she was diagnosed and had struggle health problems that includes, Crohn’s disease, at the age of 34, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and at age 39, she discovered she had a a rapid heart rhythm originating at or above the atrioventicular node  known as supraventicular tachycardia heart condition. Anastacia revealed in February 2013, that she was again struggling from breast cancer, and this time it is more serious. Crohn’s disease is a type of disease of inflammatory bowel movement that could affect any gastrointestinal tract part from mouth to anus, and causes different kinds of symptoms, primarily diarrhea (sometimes with blood if inflammation is worse),continuous vomiting , weight loss, and abdominal pain, but in most cases, it may also cause arthritis, skin rashes, inflammation of the eye, lack of concentration and tiredness, as other symptoms of complications outside the gastrointestinal tract.

In April 2012, Jong-shin became the co-host of Go Show by SBS, co-host of Hwasin-Controller of the Heart also by SBS in February 2013, and became regular host of SBS reality show the Barefooted Friends in April 2013.

Rod Stewart was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in May 2000, and underwent treatment and surgery in the same month, and was reported previously he was suffering from a benign vocal cord nodule. The result of Thyroidectomy surgery became his major health scare, which threatened his famous voice, and he had to re-learn how to sing. Stewart was the guest artist and celebrity vocal coach on American Idol on April 18 to 19, 2006, leading the remaining seven finalists in singing entries from the Great American Songbook.

Bush had a bronchitis-like cough, and was treated at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas, but was confined over the Christmas holiday because he got worse with a high fever, and was at the Intensive-care unit (ICU) since December 23. Bush became better on December 29, 2012 and moved out of intensive care. However, Bush still has health problems as of January 19, 2013. Bush was diagnosed from a form of Parkinson’s disease was forced to use a motorized scooter or wheelchair to get around.  Barbara Bush was rushed to the hospital in November 25, 2008, for abdominal pains, and found a dime-sized hole in her small intestine, that was caused by an ulcer, which was closed by surgeons. On December 2, 2008, Barbara Bush was doing well and was released. On March 4, 2009, Barbara Bush underwent aortic valve replacement surgery, and she was released on March 13, 2009, from the hospital. In 1991, George H.W. Bush, developed new atrial fibrillation and was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism also called Grave’s disease, due to the disease and treated with radioactive iodine. About that same year, his wife Barbara, also developed the same disease, which in her case produced severe infiltrative exophthalmos.  Graves’ disease is an autoimmune disease, which commonly affects the thyroid, frequently causing it to enlarge goiter to twice its size or more, become overactive, with hyperthyroid symptoms related such as increased heartbeat, weakness of muscle, sleeping disorder, and being irritable.In most Grave’s disease, it affect the eyes, causing exophthalmos or  bulging eyes. It also affects other systems of the body, such as the skin, heart, circulation and nervous system.

She was best known for her  “Taken for Granted” single that was a top 10 hit in the United Kingdom in 2000. Sia Furler has also collaborated and performed with Zero 7, with Christina Aguilera, David Guetta, Flo Rida, Hilltop Hoods, Afrojack, Shakira and Rihanna. Furler revealed her bisexuality in 2008, in an interviews with Scotland on Sunday and AfterEllen.com. Sia was included on a gay entertainers lists in the June to July 2009 The Advocate issue. Sia Furler’s official website announced in June 2010,  that all scheduled promotional shows and events and show had been cancelled due to her poor health. She cited extreme state of being drowsy, exhaustion and panic attacks and was considering from retiring permanently from tours and performing. According to her Twitter account she was diagnosed with Grave’s disease, an autoimmune disorder with an over-active thyroid. Four months later, Sia Furler said her health was improving after rest and thyroid hormone replacement therapy, she stated in an interview in ARIA Awards.

Nia is married to Ian Gomez, 48, actor best known for his comedic TV work, the most notable of which are his series-regular stints as Javier on “Felicity” and as Andy on “Cougar Town”. Nia was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis or chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, is an autoimmune disease in which the thyroid gland is attacked by a variety of cell and antibody-mediated immune processes. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis was the first disease to be recognized as an autoimmune disease, and believed to be the most common cause of primary hypothyroidism in North America, as a cause of non-endemic goiter, it is among the most common disease of due to lack of iodine.

A person with narcolepsy often experience disturbed night sleep and an abnormal daytime sleep pattern, which often is confused with insomnia. A person suffering from Narcolepsy, when falling asleep, generally experience the Rapid eye movement sleep (REM) stage of sleep within 5 minutes, while most people do not experience REM sleep until an hour or so later.

Aniston revealed that she has had two Septoplasty, (0ne in 1994 and the other in January 2007) a corrective surgical procedure done to straighten the nasal septum, the division between the two nasal cavities to correct her Nasal septum deviation or deviated septum, a common physical disorder of the nose, that involves nasal septum displacement. In most cases it is caused by impact trauma, may be a blow in the face, or it can  be a congenital disorder caused by compression of the nose during childbirth. The deviated septum symptoms include sinus’ infections, snoring, sleep apnea, facial pain, nosebleed, difficulty in breathing and repetitive sneezing, and the loss of ability to smell. Jennifer Aniston is also rumored to have incidents of sleepwalking, otherwise known as somnambulism or “nighttime wandering.” According to Neurology research published in the journal, about one in three adults has at least one episode of nighttime wandering during a lifetime. A person who are frequent night wanderers, may be twice a month, have commonly related health conditions, such as sleep apnea, depression, or alcohol abuse or it can also caused by side effects of medications, such as pain reliever, sleeping pills or anti depression pills.

Postpartum depression in new mothers or experienced traumatic childbirth, includes prolonged feelings of anxiety, worthlessness and restlessness. Brooke Shields sought treatment early on and learned to manage her disorder with professional help and medications because of her severe depression.

Sometimes pain may radiate below the knee, but very seldom, usually, the symptoms are only felt on one side of the body.

Hamilton gained media attention when he married Charmed actress Shannen Doherty (who was also diagnosed of Crohn’s disease) after knowing one another for only two weeks, he was 19 at that time. The marriage lasted only five months before Doherty filed for divorce. In 1993, Hamilton appeared with Shannen Doherty in Beethoven’s 2nd and Saturday Night Live. In 2000, Hamilton was also engaged briefly to actress Sara Foster. Hamilton revealed that he has suffered eating disorder known as bulimia and anorexia for years. Ashley has also struggle from drug addiction and alcoholism for years, which later he discovered was a substance from which another substance, is usually more active or mature, substance is formed and reason for his drug and alcohol addiction. Ashley says it is still a struggle while under treatment and recovering from his addictions.

Everhart representative announced and confirmed that she has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer, however, the probable course and outcome of a disease, especially of the chances of recovery is very good.

Johns and Imbruglia announced on January 4, 2008, they were divorcing. In July 2008, The Daily Telegraph announced Johns was dating Australian model, Louise Va..n der Vorst in July 2008, according to The Daily Telegraph, and were living together on Newcastle, Australia on July 2011, and was reported in April 2012, that Johns initiated their split in February 2012. Johns experienced depression during the tour of the Freak Show in 1997, and rumors spread that he was suffering from a drug addiction and eating disorder, which Johns confirmed in an interview for Rolling Stone Australia, that he had developed anorexia nervosa, claimed that he weighed less than 50 kilos, or 110 pounds at his thinnest. Johns revealed to ABC interviewer Andrew Denton, in 2004 that at one point of his life, he had considered death. After recording Diorama, Johns was diagnosed with reactive arthritis, a rare but serious case and had a treatment in Los Angeles, and was able to go for Across the Night Tour with the band. According to  reports of Johns’ arthritic symptoms, it did not resurface until the completion of the tour.

Michael Douglas was diagnosed with throat cancer, but many doctors believed he was actually diagnosed with oropharyngeal cancer, a disease which the cancer has malignant cells form in the oropharynx tissue. Oropharynx is a middle part of the throat which includes the base of the tongue, the tonsils, the soft palate, and the pharynx walls.  The couple planned on their 10th anniversary to renew their vows, after Douglas was found to have advanced stages of cancer. Michael Douglas was suffering from throat cancer stage IV, the most advanced stages of cancer, since August 16, 2010, which he claimed attributed from stress, heavy smoking and previous alcohol abuse and underwent radiation and chemotherapy treatment. Douglas claimed in an interview, on January 11, 2011, that the tumor was gone, and lost 32 lbs. Douglas have to go for his monthly screenings and check up, because there is a high risk, for the cancer to return within two or three years.  Michael Douglas stated in June 2013, that his cancer attributed to Human papillomavirus (HPV), a cunnilingus transmitted in oral sex act performed on a female, involving the use of sex partner of the mouth, lips and tongue.

Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones wife of famous actor Michael Douglas, both was introduced by actor Danny DeVito, came to prominence with roles in Hollywood movies and the 1998 The Mask of Zorro, 2000 film Traffic as her breakthrough. Douglas and Zeta-Jones took legal action against stalker Dawnette Knight, in 2004, who was accused of sending violent letters to the couple that contained graphic threats on Zeta-Jones’ life, as Knight claimed she is in love with Douglas. Zeta-Jones said the death threats left her so shaken and feared a nervous breakdown developed. Knight admitted to the offenses, was sentenced to three years in prison. Zeta-Jones sought treatment in April 2011 for bipolar II disorder, into New Canaan, Connecticut Silver Hill Hospital. In April 2013, Zeta-Jones deal with an expected difficulty checked into a health care facility again for further treatment related to her bipolar disorder. Zeta Jones and husband Douglas was trying to quit smoking by using electronic cigarettes, both battled to give up smoking while he was undergoing treatment for his throat cancer stage IV in August 2011.

Cystic Hygroma is the most common form of lymphangioma, contains large cyst-like cavities containing watery fluid. Cystic hygromas are commonly benign, but can cause disfigured parts of infected area, a condition which affects children, and very rare in adulthood.

It is often called “Dancing Eyes” due to involuntary movement of the eyes. Nystagmus has two key forms, the pathological and physiological, with variations within each type. Nystagmus may be caused by congenital disorders, acquired or central nervous system disorders,toxicity, pharmaceutical drugs, alcohol or rotational movement. Nystagmus, was previously considered untreatable, in recent years several pharmaceutical drugs have been identified for treatment.

Multiple sclerosis (MS), also known as disseminated sclerosis or encephalomyelitis disseminata, is an inflammatory disease in which myelin sheaths around axons of the brain and spinal cord are damaged, leading to loss of myelin and scarring. The cause of MS is not clear, but the underlying mechanism is thought to be either destruction by the immune system or failure of the myelin-producing cells. There is no known cure for multiple sclerosis, and the treatments attempt to return function after an attack, prevent new attacks, and prevent disability. Jack Osbourne and his wife, Lisa Stelly, have a daughter, Pearl Clementine, born on April 24,2012. Osbourne and Stelly were married in Hawaii on October 7, 2012. His mother Sharon Osbourne, was a colon cancer survivor.

Dench stated that she needs someone to read scripts to her. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a medical condition which usually affects older adults and results in a loss of vision in the center of the visual field known as the macula, because of damage to the retina, and occurs in “dry” and “wet” forms. Macular degeneration is a major cause of blindness and visual impairment in older adults (50 years old and above). A person with Macular degeneration have difficulties or impossible to read or recognize faces, although in most cases, there is enough remaining peripheral vision to allow other activities of daily life.

Beck was suicidal in 1994, and imagined shooting himself to the music of Kurt Cobain. Becks credits Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)  with helping him achieve sobriety.  In 2010, Beck , 46,was diagnosed with degenerative eye disease called macular dystrophy a condition that could eventually make him go blind. Beck, said he has been having trouble focusing with his eyes so he went to the doctor this past weekend. Vitelliform macular dystrophy or vitelliform dystrophy is a genetic eye disorder that can cause progressive loss of vision. This disorder affects the retina, specifically cells in a small area near the center of the retina called the macula, which is responsible for sharp central vision, which is needed for detailed tasks such as reading, driving, and recognizing faces. Vitelliform macular dystrophy causes a fatty yellow pigment known as lipofuscin to build up in cells underlying the macula. Generally, the abnormal accumulation of this substance can damage cells that are critical for clear central vision. As a result, person with this disorder often lose their central vision and may experience blurry or distorted vision, but it does not affect peripheral side vision or the ability to see at night.

Van der Westhuizen’s publicist announced that he had a muscle related neural disease, on May 12, 2011, and believed to be a form of motor neurone disease. The Cleveland Clinic doctors, in the United States have since confirmed that the former Springbok captain has Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis  and has only an 80% chance to live for two to five years from diagnosis. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) also referred to as motor neurone disease in some countries of Commonwealth of Nations, and in the United States it is known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, a debilitating disease with varied etiology characterized by rapidly progressive weaknessmuscle atrophy, fasciculations, muscle spasticity, difficulty speaking or dysarthria, dysphagia or difficulty in swallowing and dyspnea, difficulty in breathing. ALS is the most common of the five motor neuron disease. Genetic factors, There is a known hereditary factor in familial ALS (FALS), where the condition is known to run in families as one of the genetic factors of this life threatening disease.

They married on October 11, 1975, and had their only child, Chelsea, who was  born on February 27, 1980. Clinton underwent a quadruple bypass surgery in September 2004.  Clinton underwent surgery  in March 2005, for a partially collapsed lung. He was rushed to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City after complaining of chest pains, and had two coronary stents (a tube implanted in the coronary arteries that supply the heart)  implanted in his heart in February 11, 2010.
