Awesome and Weird Table Settings
Table settings is the most important preparation for any Formal, Casual or Buffet event, or even a small family affair, which every host/ hostess’s priority is their guests, these awesome and weird table settings, should be set for the comfort of every guests that leave’s a good impression on how you hosted your party. Table settings, is the most excellent services and most crucial aspects of butling, and set the table in different styles. Some guests, do not know what is the proper use of the table utensils, set on the tables, or don’t even know the proper table manners in dining. For the Family event, the meals are usually placed in platters and bowls, which the diners serve themselves and pass the dish to the next member of the family. While in a Buffet, the food is placed on a side board with the plates, and the guests take their own plates, spoon and fork, and scoop their own food, and take their own plate to their table. In some catering services, the meal is plated in the kitchen and then served to the guests.
The service tecniques or table manners, depends on what country you are in, and you are on the job training or working for a family, hotel and restaurants: Serve from the left side and removing of utensils from the right side of the guest, and the beverages should be served from the right side of the guest. The following technique for table manner in serving from a bowl or platter are: Hold the serving fork or serving spoon in your right hand, with the fork prong and the spoon pointing up from the bowl, and the fork should be on top of the spoon. Then the spoon should be between the middle finger and the index finger, then the fork will be in between the index finger and the thumb. Scoop the food gently into the spoon, and push the fork down to hold the food to avoid spilling your food. Tip the spoon and fork gently releasing the pressure on the fork.
Family Table Settings
Casual Table Setting
This casual setting of a dinner table is less formal, providing more space for the guests. The fork and dessert spoon are optional and can be placed above the dinner plate; the bread and butter plate can be optional and one can place the it above the fork on the left side. The two goblets are usually set on a casual table setting and place the water goblet at the left side, and the wine goblet can be placed above the tip of the knife. The napkins can be set on top of the dinner plate or to the fork’s left side. For casual table settings, it would be appropriate using the paper napkins and set to the fork’s left side. In table settings, it do not require to have different tableware in different table settings, it does not mean that setting a formal dinning, you need an expensive chinaware. The most important thing in table setting is the arrangement that will fit the surroundings, color motif from the tablecloth, napkins, centerpiece and tableware, that will look awesome to your expected guests.
Guidelines for All Table Settings
Place the setting 1 inch from the table edge, and avoid overcrowding arrangement of the centerpiece or unnecessary such as tableware such as; coffee cups, teacups, dessert plates (given only when dessert is being served after the meal). However, in some cases, they mix and match the setting of tableware, avoid tall destructive centerpiece. In a gathering or party, you should choose an atmosphere that will compliment your table setting and the meal served.
Formal Table Setting
The cutlery should be laid from in and out of the table setting in order to use, and save more space for the dessert spoon and fork on top of the table setting. Just in case, this dessert spoon and fork will cause overcrowding, just give it when the dessert is being served. In formal table setting, three goblets are set; water goblet at the left, white wine goblet at the top right and the red wine goblet is set above the tip of the knife.
Buffet Table Setting
In a buffet table setting, he utensils are set at the end of the table buffet, which start with the plates, followed by the main dish, side dish, salads, vegetables, breads and the relishes. Most table decorations are set at the center fo the buffet arrangement. On a separate table, the drinks, glasses, cups and dessert is set to avoid congestion. If you chose paper napkins, it must be placed between each plate in the stack (not more than 12 plates per stack) to conserve space.

The table napkins are used and add as a decor to the setting, to add more glamor to your table setting, both paper nakin or cloth napkins, folded and arranged in different designs and styles. There are many kinds of design for the cloth napkins such as; Snowflake Napkin Fold, Rose or Cabbage Napkin fold, Classic napkin fold, Pocket napkin fold, Ring napkin fold, Accordion or Fan napkin fold, Tulip napkin fold, Cocks Comb or Bird of Paradise napkin fold and Peacock napkin fold.
Chinese Table Settings
Set the horizontally the chopstick , in front of the diner, the tapered ends pointing to the left. Always remember that Chinese chopsticks have blunt tapered ends, compared to Japanese chopsticks usually ends in point tapered. In Chinese dinning,the wood or bamboo chopsticks are commonly used, than the plastic chopsticks, which is hard to handle and slippery.
